Untested Rape Kits: the Issue, the Impact, and the Response

June 25, 2014 1:00 PM - June 25, 2014 2:30 PM

The Rape Kit Action Project is pleased to announce a new and exciting FREE training opportunity.  Join us for this webinar and learn about our nation’s untested sexual assault kit problem, the impact on victims’ lives, how it differs from the “rape kit backlog,” and innovative federal and state policy initiatives underway to address the issue.

Who Should Attend:

Advocates, detectives, prosecutors, state legislators and staff, and other professionals involved in work to address untested rape kits.

Topics Covered:

Attendees will hear first-hand from survivor Natasha Alexenko, founder of Natasha's Justice Project, about the human impact of this work. Speakers will present information that will help the audience develop an understanding of the scope of the problem, commonly used terminology and definitions, federal funding available to support law enforcement and other officials working to address local backlogs, process evidence, and ensure perpetrators of held accountable.
