All kids who are in the child welfare system are at heightened risk for trafficking. And agencies that interact with youth are in prime position to identify at-risk youth and prevent them from being trafficked.
Mr. Rivera serves as co-leader of the Human Anti-Trafficking Response Team at the Connecticut Department of Children and Families. Since 2008 he has spearheaded efforts to build their response to human trafficking of children. In this webinar, he will discuss some of the issues, challenges, and lessons they have overcome. He will also address the importance of developing partnerships with law enforcement and service providers to help ensure that victims are not re-victimized.
Presenter:
William Rivera, Director of Multicultural Affairs and Immigration Practice at the Academy for Families, Workforce, Knowledge and Development in the Connecticut Department of Children and Families
