DESCRIPTION:Calling all advocates and community members\, NIWRC’s Women Are Sacred Conference (WAS) is going virtual! WAS is one of the largest gatherings of tribal domestic violence programs\, advocates\, survivors\, tribal leaders\, and community members\, law enforcement\, and tribal court personnel dedicated to ending violence against Indian women and children. Our 2021 conference will provide virtual training opportunities\, presentations\, and keynote addresses by established and emerging Indigenous leaders and experts in the movement to end the violence on various topics focused on supporting tribal nations\, tribal domestic violence programs\, and tribal community-based programs.

SUMMARY:OVW Youth Sex Trafficking Learning Collaborative  “Putting Strategy Into Practice”: The Learning Collaborative Direct Service Level
DESCRIPTION:June 9\, June 16\, and June 23 – 2:00pm to 4:00pm ET \nThe Treatment Level training is for those individuals who are social workers\, case managers\, or forensic interviewers who are specifically trained in sex trafficking and proving therapy to children and youth. These individuals provide ongoing trauma-informed and victim-centered services such as counseling and trauma-specific therapeutic interventions and utilize comprehensive evaluations and therapy tools such as EMDR\, DBT\, Biopsychosocial\, Brainspotting\, and trauma therapies. \nFor individuals in these roles who are working with youth who may be at risk for sex trafficking\, assessment will assess and document scope\, nature\, severity\, and impact of suspected trafficking and determine a youth’s safety. \nThis series of webinars will provide an overview of the assessment tool for youth sex trafficking and discusses considerations for screenings. In this session\, we will explore how to respond during a crisis\, methods for engaging youth who may be\, or may be at risk for being\, trafficked\, mandated reporting\, and focus on conversation starters\, considerations for screening\, and emergency response. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nParticipants will be able to utilize 3 conversation starters with youth who may have been\, or who are ask risk for being\, trafficked.
