We invite you to explore our special and past programs, created in partnership with organizations dedicated to fighting for victims’ rights. These collaborations reflect our shared commitment to justice, support, and empowerment for those affected.
Safety and Justice Challenge
The MacArthur Foundation’s Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC), active in 34 counties and four cities across the country, aims to develop and implement progressive criminal justice reforms to safely reduce jail populations and address racial disparities. As a strategic ally of the Safety and Justice Challenge, the National Center for Victims of Crime seeks to bring victims’ voices to the larger conversation of reducing over-incarceration in the United States.
Financial Crime Resource Center
The Financial Crime Resource Center was established to help victims of financial crime recover their assets and regain control of their lives through partnerships and training. We provide technical assistance to organizations assisting victims with various types of fraud, including identity theft, investment fraud, cybercrime, and financial exploitation. We conduct this work through partnerships, and the FINRA Investor Education Foundation has worked with us since we began assisting victims of fraud.
Center for Victim Research
The Center for Victim Research is a one-stop shop for victim service providers and researchers to connect and share knowledge. CVR’s free online resources and library of victim research improve the response to victims through – promoting the collection and use of victim data; increasing access to research evidence on victim policies, programs and practices; supporting the translation and dissemination of victim research as usable information; and improving opportunities for researchers and practitioners to work together.
Stalking Resource Center
SPARC is a federally funded project providing education and resources about the crime of stalking. SPARC aims to enhance the response to stalking by educating the professionals tasked with keeping stalking victims safe and holding offenders accountable. SPARC ensures that allied professionals have the specialized knowledge to identify and respond to the crime of stalking.
Responding to Original Victims of Wrongful Conviction Cases with Healing Justice
Post-conviction exonerations cause pain and suffering to the victims of the original crime. Many victims only learn of the exoneration through the media, with no prior notification and nowhere to turn to get answers or needs addressed. The Healing Justice project aims to identify the specialized needs of original victims and to improve support and services available to them through the publication of resources for practitioners working with original victims, media reporting on the wrongful convictions, and peer-to-peer outreach materials.
Improving the Response toVictims of Child Pornography
The National Center for Victims of Crime and our partners, the National Children’s Alliance and the University of New Hampshire’s Crimes Against Children Research Center, are pleased to release the Final Report from our examination of the response to victims of child pornography.
