On May 5th, 2024, we recognize Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day, in partnership with the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center. This day serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing crisis of missing and murdered Indigenous individuals in the United States. The National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center provides national leadership in efforts to end violence against American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian women by amplifying the voices of grassroots advocates and offering culturally grounded resources, technical assistance, training, and policy development to strengthen tribal sovereignty. Join us in raising awareness about this critical issue and advocating for justice and support for Indigenous communities. Let’s honor and remember those who have been affected by this tragedy and work towards a future where all Indigenous persons are safe and valued.
